Immersion assembly 2

Who? What? When? Where?
On the 13th of october we sat on the mat to watch the immersion assembly. Each team made a video about what they are going to be doing this term. Guess what team was my favourite?

What is the school theme for Term 4 ? What are the other teams doing? (3-4 sentences)
May the force be with you Kia kaha te kaha ki a koe. Most of the teams are doing activities using the four forces. Some teams are doing fun things like marbles,sounds,paper planes, and making their own animations.

What is Team 4’s topic about? What did the Team 4 teachers share? (3-4 sentences)
How do the four forces of flight work together to help things fly. Our teachers made a video about paper planes and why your instructions should be clear. This term we will be learning about how the four forces help things drag,lift,weight and thrust.

What do you want to/hope to learn about? (3-4 sentences)
I want to learn more about planes and how they use the four forces to fly. How the four forces can be useful in different ways. What do we know to make a perfect paper plane.
Reorientation (Summary): What do you think about the new term theme overall?
I think the new theme is alright because we get to make planes and do experiments. I do loe learning about planes and new things.

On the 13th of October the school bell rang. We ran down to the mat and sat while waiting for the immersion assembly. When the live started we did the prayer and the mihi.

Then we got started with a video from Mr Burt, Mr Jacobson and Mrs Nua. They showed us hurricanes, tornados and storms. Then some water dams showed us how we get electricity and how they water goes to places,

Then team 1 movie was up. The three little pink pigs made their own home using different materials like hay, straws and brick.The wolf ( Mrs Hockley) used different methods to try to break in and eat the pigs for lunch.

When they went to the first pig’s house and had some tea. Then the wolf pushes the house down and luckily they all escape to the second pig’s house. It was a straw house. It was nice and warm. When the wolf pulled the house down. They ran as fast as they could to the third pig’s house and luckily it was a brick house.

The wolf tried to lift the building but it was too heavy for her. Then the wolf did more research and that was it. Then it was Team 2’s turn. There were 3 little kids who loved to go to the marble park.

One day they were playing with the marble and realised why some marbles go faster than the others. Then they realise it because some are heavy and some are lighter. Then made their own marbles course.

After that it was team 3’s turn. They made a song about the four forces and what it is used for. Back in the days there was no machine or transportation to move,pull and push.

So they had to create their own things to get objects moving. They used a rope to pull a bag to the top of the tree. Now in modern days we have things called trolleys. After that it was my team, team 4’s turn. My teachers made a video about what instructions are useful and why we have to listen carefully.

If you want to make a plane you have to read or watch the instructions carefully. If you didn’t listen to the instructions your plane could be awful. The 6 teachers tried listening to the instructions but only two did it right.

Finally team 5’s finished the end of assembly. They did a video of what vibrations we can hear. They used different instruments and used rubber bands to play with.My favourite team was team 5 because they were funny because they were roasting each other. I felt excited about what we were going to do this term.

Immersion assembly 1

Introduction
On monday room 10 watched the immersion assembly to see what was the theme of this term.
Senior Management Team
They made a video about what is happening around the world like hurricanes,storms or tornadoes.

Team One
They did a video about different methods to break a hay house,a straw and a brick house from the three little pigs.

Team Two
They did a video about how marbles can go faster and slower. The heavier the slower the lighter the faster.

Team Three
They did a song about the four forces

Team Four
How instructions are useful and what paper planes need to fly..

Team Five
They did a video about what things have sounds and vibration

Conclusion
I liked team 5 because they were funny and were about sounds. And the teachers were roasting each other

A very weird dream

One day Johnny was doing a science experiment. He mixed three different liquids. Then he put this special liquid in a glass tube and drank it.

He became a giant. He could pick up a plane or even go on top of it. Then he decides to order a 100,000,000 metres size pizza for himself.

When the pizza arrived the delivery man was worried and shocked. He ran to the police station and told him what happened. Then Johnny went to the airport while crushing the houses in Las vegas.

The news was talking about what was happening. After thirty minutes he arrived at the airport he got on top of the plane and ate his pizza. He then decided to work for the US army.

After applying for the army he went to North korea and destroyed the army and the land. Then he realised he might become the world’s strongest person in the world.Then Johnny said “ I should be president USA”.

Then he ended worlds hunger and decided to change the world. Johnny then built each continent a barrier so they can be safe for all. Everybody in the world liked what he was doing. Then he made a place in each country where people could get free food and drinks.

Then he made himself an island so he wasn’t crushing the country. He connected all the countries together so people could go to different countries. Then a big Asteroid came and he saved the world. But it was just a dream.

Term 4 inquiry Paper plane

Task description: Today I finished my inquiry activity, we had to research about planes.  Then I discuss with my group what we want to learn about planes. Then we talked about what a plane  needs to stay in the air. Then  I got buddied up with someone.  Then Me and corey picked a different plane. He picked a hunter and I pick a raven. My flew 7 metres and his one went 6 metres. then we filled up a slide about what happened.

Term 3 recap

Task description: Today I finished  my maths activity. I had to answer the questions about what I have been doing this term like perimeter, area and fractions. They were also addition and subtraction with high numbers. This took me about 5 hours to finished.
