Food lables

Task description: Today I finished my reading labels activity. We had to read food labels and record what each labels mean.

Fibre: Even though your body can’t digest fibre, it helps keep your digestive system healthy and makes you feel full, so you don’t overeat.

Sugars: Even though your body can’t digest fibre, it helps keep your digestive system healthy and makes you feel full, so you don’t overeat.

Protein: Protein is very good for your body it helps  it to be stronger.

Vitamin and minerals:  Each vitamin and mineral helps your body in a different way. For example, calcium makes your bones strong, and Vitamin C helps your body fight off colds.

Percent  Daily value : This helps you understand if you’re getting too much or too little of a nutrient. If the %DV is 5% or lower, it means the food is low in that nutrient. If it’s 20% or higher, it means the food is high in that nutrient.

Calories

Task description: : Today I complete one slide for calories.  Your body needs calories to run, just like a car needs fuel. But if you eat too many calories and don’t use them up by playing or moving around, your body stores the extra energy as fat.

Serving size

Task description: Today I complete one slide for serving size. Serving size  could be one cookie one, juice or even  a piece of cereal.
